People and access

Give someone exactly the access they need: a role says what they can do, and a place says where.

Every person who helps you has one or more roles. Each role is given in one place: the whole studio, one event, one event edition or one course.

How roles work

A role is a set of things a person can do, grouped by area. Each area has a level: No access, View, Edit or Manage. Money actions such as refunds stay off unless you turn them on. The built-in roles cover the usual jobs. To adjust one, duplicate it and change the copy in Settings, Roles.

A role, and where it applies

Giving a role always means two choices: what (the role) and where (the place). The same Check-in role can be given for the whole studio or for a single edition. The person then sees and does only what the role allows, and only in that place.

Let someone only check people in at one edition

Open People and choose Invite, or open the person if they are already on your team. Pick the Check-in role, then choose the event edition where they will work the door. They can scan tickets and see the attendee list for that edition, and nothing else.

Change or remove access

Open the person in People to see every role they hold and where. Add another role, change where one applies, or remove it. Changes take effect straight away. Editing a role of your own changes it for everyone who has it.
